Ġorġ Mallia

Author, cartoonist and communications academic

I'm not a portrait artist, but I love rendering faces in as many lines as possible. I love cross-hatching and using differently weighted lines to bring out a likeness. When I started my Facebook "tradition" of drawing tribute portraits of those who have passed and who had some sort of connection with my life, it caught on, with people anticipating "the next". But I've also drawn people who are alive, of course, like my mum (may she have many many more years) and myself. Here's a selection. The "virtuosity" (if any) is in the linework. Please ignore everything else.
